More about this program

Many people who have dissociative identity disorder (DID) also struggle with other things like ADHD, anxiety, and major depressive disorder . Our treatment center is a safe place where you can get the help you need to feel like yourself again. We believe that everyone has the power to heal if they have the right tools and a team that cares.

Dissociative identity disorder is a very complex mental health condition. In the past, people used to call it multiple personality disorder , but we now know it is much more than just having different "personalities." It happens when a person’s mind creates different parts of their identity to stay safe during very hard times.

This usually starts after a person goes through a lot of stress , neglect, or abuse when they were very young children. Because a child's brain is still growing, it is very flexible. To survive something scary, the brain tries to protect the person by "moving" the bad memories away into a different part of the mind. This process is called dissociation .

Mental Health Treatment

If you or someone you love is looking for Dissociative Identity Disorder treatment facilities, you are not alone. Dealing with a mental disorder can feel like being lost in a thick fog where everything feels blurry. At OC Revive, we help people find their way back to a clear and happy life.

What is Dissociative Identity Disorder ?

Dissociative identity disorder is a very complex mental health condition. In the past, people used to call it multiple personality disorder , but we now know it is much more than just having different "personalities." It happens when a person’s mind creates different parts of their identity to stay safe during very hard times.

This usually starts after a person goes through a lot of stress , neglect, or abuse when they were very young children. Because a child's brain is still growing, it is very flexible. To survive something scary, the brain tries to protect the person by "moving" the bad memories away into a different part of the mind. This process is called dissociation .

How Dissociation Feels in Real Life

When someone has this disorder, they might feel like they are watching their life from high up in the air or from behind a glass wall. This is called depersonalization . They might also feel like the world around them isn't real, almost like they are living in a movie or a dream; this is called derealization .

For many patients , these feelings can be very scary. You might feel a sense of emotional detachment , where you can't feel happy or sad even when you want to. Our goal at OC Revive is to help you come back to the present moment so you can feel connected to your life again.

Why You Might Need a Treatment Center

Finding the right mental health treatment is the most important step in your journey. A specialized treatment center like OC Revive has an expert team who understands how the unconscious mind works. We don't just look at the symptoms; we look at the whole person.

Signs and Symptoms to Watch For

It can be hard to know if what you are feeling is a mental disorder . Here are some common signs that it might be time to talk to a health professional :

Our health professional team is here to help you understand these experiences without any judgment. We use the latest research to make sure our treatment programs are safe and helpful for you.

Our Specialized Treatment Programs at OC Revive

At OC Revive, we offer different levels of health care to fit your needs. Some people need a lot of support, while others just need a little. We offer a PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program). This is a great choice because you come to our treatment center during the day for intensive therapy and then go home at night to sleep in your own bed.

The Power of Therapy and Coping

We teach you coping skills so you can handle big emotions without feeling overwhelmed. Our mental health professional staff uses dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). This is a special kind of talk therapy that helps you manage your behavior and stay calm when you feel a lot of stress .

Healing Through Art and Creative Expression

Sometimes, the things we went through are too hard to put into words. That is why we use art therapy . By using art , you can show your clinician how you feel inside through colors, shapes, and pictures. This helps the brain process trauma in a gentle way. We also encourage exercise and movement, which helps release stress trapped in the body.

Understanding Dual Diagnosis and ADHD

Many people who come to OC Revive are dealing with more than just one mental disorder . This is called a dual diagnosis . It is very common for someone with dissociative identity disorder to also have ADHD or an anxiety disorder .

Why ADHD and DID Often Overlap

When you have ADHD, it is already hard to pay attention . If you add dissociation to that, it can feel impossible to stay focused. You might feel like your mind is constantly drifting away. We create special treatment programs that help you manage both. We might use certain medicines or specific types of therapy to help your brain stay "on track."
