Mexican Xanax bars refer to Farmapram, a brand name in Mexico for benzodiazepine alprazolam which goes by the brand name Xanax in the U.S. Xanax is a federally approved prescription medication commonly used for anxiety disorders, panic disorders and several other mental health issues.

Mexican Xanax bars can be categorized as tranquilizers commonly used for sedation, relaxation, and to reduce anxiety. Mexican Xanax bars, or Farmapram bars come as slotted tablets but with no other markings or imprints on them.

Risks of buying Xanax Bars from Mexico

Although purchasing Xanax bars from Mexico is much cheaper than in the U.S., there are several potential risks that should be considered.

Xanax bars laced with Fentanyl. Fentanyl is a highly addictive drug that has led to a significant number of deaths and hospitalizations. One of the biggest risks of purchasing Xanax bars from Mexico is the uncertainty of the ingredients and the doses in the tablets.

Not governed by FDA. Although Xanax itself has been approved by the FDA as a prescription drug, the drugs produced in Mexico are not governed by FDA regulations. In addition, some of the Mexican Xanax bars have been sourced from China distributed through Mexican drug cartels.

Customs and Legal ramifications. Personal prescription medications are allowed to be carried through US customs when crossing over the border from Mexico, however there are limitations on the supply amounts. In addition, all medications must be declared to the US customs.

Drug abuse and misuse. While there are some Mexican name brands such as Farmapram that are regulated by the Mexican government, taking these drugs without a doctor’s prescription is risky and can lead to severe issues with abuse and overuse.

Do not take Xanax without a prescription. If you do take Xanax for any mental health conditions and decide to purchase Mexican Xanax bars, make sure to buy it from a name brand and read the label closely. Be aware that long term Xanax usage, especially without a prescription, can lead to addiction, psychosis, and other risks that are related to overdosing.
