Coping skills inside an IOP week

OC Revive Clinical Team4 min read

At OC Revive, you practice coping skills for addiction in IOP or PHP sessions in Lake Forest, then use them at home that same night.

Where The Skills Are Taught

Coping skills are part of intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) at 23726 Birtcher Dr in Lake Forest. Because both are outpatient, you can try a new skill at home the same night you learn it.

Admissions will help you choose the level of care that fits and check your insurance, since benefits vary by plan.

What A Skill Is For

A coping skill is a specific step you can take when stress, a craving, or a hard mood shows up between sessions. Your group learns the step together, and then you practice it at home.

Skills like these work alongside treatment, not in place of it. To see how IOP is structured and compare it with other options, read our IOP page.

If You Need More Than A Skill

If a few hours of IOP aren't enough support, ask admissions about PHP, which is a full day of treatment in the same Lake Forest building.

Call (800) 808-6757 or use the insurance verification form, and admissions can help you choose a start date.
